Courtney + Nick :: Indianapolis Nautical Wedding at Oak Hill Mansion
Oh how a I love a good theme wedding! I especially love a good theme wedding when it's tastefully done! Courtney + Nick both have a love for scuba diving. Plus they're both trained lifeguards. Because of this they decided to have a nautical themed wedding at Courtney's church, St. Luke's United Methodist Church and their reception at The Mansion at Oak Hill. But what I love is that they found a way to do natuical and beach without making it cheesy or kitchy. Which are two things that can be easily done in a theme wedding.
As you probably have seen with the bombardment of their engagement photos on my Facebook and Blog, my dear friends Courtney + Nick were married a few weekends ago surrounded by their amazing family and friends. It was wonderful to witness these two finally tying the knot. Although I love to watch all of my clients join their lives together but because I am lucky enough to call these two friends, it was extra special.
Courtney prepared for the day surrounded by her bridesmaids at the salon she frequents, Hair Rockers. She was pampered and primmed with her hair by Jenn Gray and her make-up by JSP's very own make-up artist, Ashley Huse.
Nick and his groomsmen prepped at his parents house. They relaxed and socialized while getting ready. This involved many snacks and Mountain Dew's.
They both had fabulous details. Aside from the fact that Courtney's ring is downright GORG-E-OUS, Nick had some wonderful details including a watch Courtney bought him for Christmas and cufflinks passed down from his great-grandpa.
Let's also not forget Courtney's super awesome headband and the fact that she wore TOM's on her wedding day. I love me a good TOM's bride. Comfort is key in my life.
Nick and had a wonderful group of friends to stand with him at the altar. They were some pretty awesome dudes.
Courtney's bridesmaids were equally awesome and super beautiful! Look how much they love her!!
A few photos of Courtney prior to the ceremony in the beautiful church window light. Not gonna lie, I pretty much love these photos. And Courtney, you look GORG! Jusssss sayin....
You know me. Always a sucker for a Dad and Bride photo. And the look on Courtney's face in this photo did not disappoint. I'd say she's pretty happy, what do you guys think!?
The Matron of Honor crying? Courtney laughing while putting on Nick's ring. I'd say their ceremony went pretty well. It was sweet and true to them. Which I loved.
P.S. Awesome first kiss Nick. Hand on the face. Nice touch.
Beautiful but simple nautical themed tablescape. This is just one of the many designs that their tables had at their reception. Mine had a lighthouse on it. Unfortunately, I didn't get a photo of my table. Sad face.
I also loved their simple but theme acurate cake. And if anyone knows me, I love me some chevron so that cake had my heart won over. The cake was made by Confectioneiress Cupcakes and Sweets. If you like clean lines and well executed fondant work, check them out. I've only stalked their Facebook page and I already love everything I've seen. I am a sucker for some clean lines though. Regardless, this cake was awesome. So was this moment between Courtney + her Matron of Honor at the head table.
Hello awesomely fun bridal party and hello sunset lighting! LOOOOOVE some lens flares. Just love. This photo of Courtney + Nick practicing some turns for their choreographed dance number was just awesome.
Okay, so Courtney + Nick's portraits are some of my favorite ever. The lighting was perfect and they were just super adorable together. I love how excited they were to finally be married. Look at their adorableness. They're so cute I might even say adorbs. MIGHT!
This super sweet pennant banner that says "Stellema" was hand made by the people of Studio OTB. If you don't know what Studio OTB is, you should look it up. Because they're awesome. I'm just saying.
Finally I'll close out this blog post with some super cute photos of Courtney + Nick's choreographed first dance. It was so cute watching them dance together. I love how adorable they are.
Courtney + Nick. It was an honor to witness the joining of your lives together. I enjoyed being there for every moment of your day. I look forward to many more years of friendship and many more years of watching your relationship blossom and grow. Enjoy every moment of your time together. Thank you so much for letting me be part of your day.
