Mill Top Noblesville Wedding // Sarah & Christin
LOVE YOU TO THE MOON AND BACK.
That was the theme of Sarah + Christin's beautiful wedding at The Mill Top in Noblesville. It was such a wonderful and laid back day with a wonderful backdrop of an old flour mill converted into a venue. The staff at the Mill Top were absolutely incredible. So attentive and helpful. Someone was always there when I had a question and no one ever complained. I will photograph there over and over.
Not to mention, the brides were so relaxed even when things got a little hectic. It just made the day amazing to be a part of. To witness it. It was a day full of love and excitement. You could see the pride, joy, and love pouring out of them. It was like a halo. A glow. Shimmering for all of the world to see.
Sarah + Christin are two ladies that are full of love. Their wedding was full of little personal details right down to their jewelry. Sarah wore a necklace with her grandmother's wedding ring on it and a Pandora bracelet given to her by Christin. I loved all of their details. Down to their beautiful bouquets by McNamara Flowers.
Having two brides means having two stylists. My hair and makeup girl, Ashley Huse, did hair and makeup for Sarah and the ladies on her side of the wedding party (aka Team Sarah). While Christin and the ladies on her side (aka Team Christin) had their own hair and makeup artist, Ashley Dawson. I know, two Ashley's doing hair and makeup. What luck!! They both rocked it out and the brides both looked beautiful.
Talk about looking beautiful, Sarah looked absolutely stunning in her sparkly gown. The sparkles absolutely fit her personality.
Sarah + Christin's first look took place on the rooftop terrace at The Mill Top. Talk about a great place for a first look. AND we did some killer sunset photos up there Keep on reading for those bad boys!
They were also accompanied by some pretty incredible people. When you have a wedding with two brides, your traditional wedding party gender roles no longer exist. Which is awesome because then your best friends can be with you, no matter what. I say who needs traditional gender roles! Bring whoever you're closest with to stand by your side, LBGT wedding or not!! Team Sarah + Team Christin rocked out wedding party photos with this killer staircase shot. Plus their little flower girl stole the show by taking Sarah's flowers and saying, "It's my party now!" Cue the "awwww"s!
Every ceremony is personal but one thing I've noticed from photographing, now, four LGBT weddings. These weddings are always the most personal. The most touching. Never a dry eye in the audience. Sarah + Christin were actually married when LGBT marriage became legal in Indiana back in June 2014. It meant so much to them to have Indiana on their marriage license because Indiana was their home. Having this celebration with friends and family was even more touching and emotional. Not to mention the fact that Sarah's dad was placed in a wheel chair just weeks before her wedding. She wasn't even sure if there was going to be a way for him to bring her down the aisle. But from meeting her dad that day, there is one thing I learned about him. He's a determined man, and when he wants something, we will do it. They found a way, and he escorted her down that aisle that day and I could tell she couldn't have been happier. I felt honored to be part of their day and document their memories.
Remember those killer sunset photos I was telling you guys about?! Well yes, they pretty much rocked my face off. I love sunset. I will shoot at sunset all day. Every day. If you let me. It has a way with my soul.
The Mill Top with all of it's twinkling lights, by the way, is like my best friend ever. When I photographed Alli + Rob's wedding back in December I discovered my love for them. The big orbs of light behind your subject just can't be beat. I love it!!
Plus, those orbs of light made for some ridiculously magical first dance shots. I already love first dance photos as it is. But, with all those lights. I just felt like I was in a fairy tale. And remember how I mentioned Sarah's dad was a determined man? He found a way to stand with his daughter and dance with her at her wedding, even though he was in a wheelchair. It was absolutely beautiful. I think I almost cried.
I had the best of times at Sarah + Christin's wedding. Sure knew how to kick a wedding season off right! You girls are awesome! I'm so glad you chose me to be with you on your special day. I hope you enjoyed your awesome vacation in Puerto Rico!! I'm pretty sure I was living vicariously through your Facebook photos. (#SuperJelly). I look forward to watching you two grow and thrive as a couple and I know you will have a lifetime of happiness. Thank you for including me on your day.
