Downtown Indianapolis Central Library Engagement // Lindsey & Eric
HISTORIC LIBRARIES, SUNSET ON ROOFTOPS, AND THE GREAT CIRCLE CITY
Upon discovering that Lindsey + Eric were going to utilize their common love of literature for their September 2015 wooded wedding I knew right away we had to photograph their engagement session in the Indianapolis Central Library. We had the greatest time walking around the amazing library and then downtown Indy. Only to finish up our session at the top of The Sheraton City Centre hotel at sunset.
While attending a band practice with her best friend, Lindsey saw Eric behind the drums the minute she walked in. In efforts to find any reason to talk to him they started playing with a rubber toy together. After they got to talking the two of them really started to hit it off. Eventually they started dating and meeting each other's families didn't come far after that. Then while going on a hike in Turkey Run they uttered the famous three words, "I love you." A year an a half later, on New Years Eve, they decided they were going to be hiking partners for life and set a date for a September wedding in the woods.
With the books, the sunset, and their love combined; a recipe for magic and amazing photos happened during their engagement session. I try to keep my blog posts to 10 - 15 photos but we were in the Central Library... it was hard to just pick 15... so I didn't. Whoops!
Seriously, all levels of this library is amazing. We really loved all of the old architecture of the old building. But the big windows on the top floor giving way to the Indianapolis skyline wasn't too shabby either. :)
Not to mention, this freaking escalator. All the yes.
Books. Books for days.
The old section of the library. Oh my goodness, this freaking place. I could have spent so much time there, but we wanted to get outside with plenty of time for sunset, which is okay because the outdoor architecture of this place was equally amazing.
While waiting for the sun to lower, Lindsey showed me an awesome little spot that she used to walk when she was working downtown. Sun through an archway of trees?! Ummm, yes!!
Even though there's construction at the monument we had to sneak in to get at least one photos by the monument. We decided the waterfall was the best unobstructed place. Even though there may have been a weird man watching us take this photo. But Lindsey + Eric were troopers and didn't let it get in the way of them being adorable. Because... well... I have the best clients ever.
Lastly, we were granted access to the rooftop pool terrace of the Sheraton City Centre hotel for a little bit of sunset time. It was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend getting on a rooftop or parking garage at sunset during an urban session. Because, you know, silhouettes and sunset light are kind of my jam!
Not to mention, Ashley, my amazing hair and makeup girl. Rocked some winged eyeliner for Lindsey. At the last minute. Cause she's amazing. I kinda love her.
Thank you Lindsey + Eric for choosing me to photograph not only your engagement session but allowing me to witness and document your day. I know that your wedding is going to be amazing. And I feel lucky to not only call you my clients but my friends. Y'all are amazing. And I love you both dearly. September can't get here soon enough!!
