A STATEMENT OF LOVE IN INDIANAPOLIS...
When Libby first “smiled” at Dave through eHarmony, neither of them knew that two years later they would be walking down the aisle together at the Indiana State Museum along the canal gathered by 70 of their closest family and friends. But after several adventurous dinners, beer tastings, and adopting three pets together the day finally came when Dave proposed to Libby. After a long day of working in the yard they walked to a local wine shop to sip some wine and enjoy their evening together. Dave tried to get Libby to extend their walk and go to a nearby fountain, but Libby not knowing Dave was trying to propose refused and wanted to get started walking home before it got too late. After they arrived home Dave couldn’t wait any longer and proposed to her right there in their kitchen. Which, personally, I find absolutely the cutest.
I think Dave’s proposal and their personalities showed that their intimate wedding was absolutely perfect for the two of them. It was definitely obvious that Libby + Dave both wanted to have a fun and relaxing day, and I am certain this was achieved. Ending the night with a super fun sparkler exit and leaving in a vintage Cadillac definitely was the cherry on top of a super sweet night!
The morning started off at Libby + Dave’s home where myself, Ashley, Libby and her maid of honor, Beth hung out in the very spot Dave proposed and listened to some (epic) tunes and working on Libby’s hair and makeup.
I’ll say this once and I’ll say it again, I love working with my best friend. Every wedding I get to do with her is just the best.
While Ashley finished beautifying Libby + Beth, I got to meet up with my FABULOUS second shooter and work on detail shots at the museum. Unfortunately I didn’t get to work with muh gurl Stephanie, but Rachel from Raesussana Photography was absolutely fabulous and was a hard worker and great support!
In other news, Libby + Dave’s details were pretty much the most fab-tastic. Her dress killed. it.
This watch that Libby gifted Dave for their wedding was so cool! It’s from Hawaii and has wood in the links!

Once details were finished it was time for Libby + Dave to get dressed. This moment of Libby with her mom getting dressed was one of my favorites. Plus, that lighting though!

Libby and Dave’s first look was one of the best first looks I’ve had in awhile! As soon as Libby turned the corner into the beautiful light drenched hallway, and saw her husband to be she immediately started getting emotional! It was so great and so sweet! I probably took WAY too many photos of their first look, but I don’t even care. They’re adorable!
Walking along the canal we got some of the greatest photos. I love our city skyline and the canal.
Ashley, as I always say, you’re amazing and I love you. And your work. But mostly you. These pin curls are absolutely stunning!
I’ve said this once, and I’ll say it again. As fun as big wedding parties with tons of people are. And trust me, they really are fun. I really love me a small group of people gathered to celebrate their friends getting married. Libby + Dave’s intimate wedding party did not disappoint. Libby had a maid of honor and Dave and a best man. And that. was. it. It was so sweet and I loved it.
Loved the bright yellow bouquets by JP Parker Flowers! They did an amazing job! I’ve always wanted to work with their florals. I was pretty excited to finally have the chance!
Ceremony on the canal? Yes please!! Plus, that staircase? Talk about an entrance!
After the ceremony and cocktail hour their beautiful reception began in the Rapp Reception Hall at the Indiana State Museum. With the string lights and natural light it was set up for the perfect reception. I loved the bright tulip centerpieces! It just brought everything together!
Remember when I said they’ve adopted three pets since they’ve been together?! Well in lieu of guest gifts they made a big donation to the humane society and then put these cute little cards of their fur babies at everyone’s seat to show their guests how much they love the animals of the world!
String lights + first dances =
Before the light was gone we managed to run outside and snag a photo in front of the building. The sunset light was gone, but we got this epic shot. And in my book, that’s totally worth it!
We ended the night with a sparkler exit, a vintage car, and a night time shot of our beautiful city! Thank you so much to everyone involved, but mostly to Libby + Dave for allowing me to document and witness your love unfold and hearts join together! I had the greatest time at your big day and I look forward to watching your love grow. Thank you again, so much, for having me!
