early birthday :: little surprises

So maybe my birthday is still 2.5 months away.

So maybe my mom has an Amazon.com addiction.

So maybe she also has a problem with keeping secrets + waiting until holidays + events to give people gifts.

I do not care! Today something came in the mail and it was supposed to be my birthday present. And for those of you who don't know, my birthday is June 16th. So we still have a ways to go.

At first when she pulled it out of the box I thought it was a real lens. I just thought to myself, "How the heck did she afford that?!" For those of you who don't know, this lens costs around $2,500! So I was wondering who she killed to get that kind of money just handy!

But then I realized that it was not a 70-200 mm lens. (Which, oh my gouda, would be awesome!) But instead a nifty little, COFFEE MUG!

It also came with a spiffy little carrying case!

Now, if anyone knows me. I don't drink coffee or tea. (Not really my thing.) I do like hot cider, so I'm pretty excited for some Fall sessions with my new mug and some delicious hot cider. But regardless or coffee, tea, or hot cider I WILL USE THIS THING! I don't care if I have to put Mountain Dew or Ice Water in it. This is way too cool NOT to use!

Plus it looks mega legit!

So yeah. Early birthday presents make me happy. And I was pretty excited when my mom handed this over to me this morning! Next up! THE REAL THING!

Until the real thing comes and I have that to discuss with y'all. Keep rockin' and go out there and enjoy this lovely weather we're having! Much better than Sunday/Monday's snow!

Enjoy! I shoot Nikon, but have the equivalent. It's such an incredible piece of glass... the funny thing, is that it's my least-used one... but I can't live without it. I had mine stolen in November and HAD to have it replaced before concert and wedding season started.

I go back and look at the pics I've taken with it, and they are some of my best. Gah, I'm so excited for you! It's worth the size and weight most of the time. ;-) Definitely recommend getting a BlackRapid WS-1 strap.
