Downtown Indianapolis Regions Tower Fall Wedding // Lindsey & Dave
“Tell me that you want me, and I’ll be yours completely, for better or for worse.” // Kodaline
My oh my, oh my, oh my! This wedding ladies and gentleman. This wedding is definitely up there in like top five favorite weddings from last year. Not to say anything bad AT ALL about my other weddings from 2015. I love each and every one of my clients. They are all amazing and beautiful people committing themselves to each other for life. That in itself is the reason why I do what I do. To tell love stories. But when you have a super fun loving couple paired with an equally fun wedding party, more time for photos than I’ve ever known what to do with, delicious food, heart warming toasts, a sunset, AND a beautiful rainbow come together into one amazing wedding. Well it’s every photographers dream.
Lindsey + Dave are possibly some of the sweetest people I’ve ever met! One of my favorite things is when my clients become my friends and I feel like Lindsey and I are sisters from another mister! (P.S. She sends the best snapchats of usually one of three things: her/her & Dave at a sporting event, her super sweet pup, or whatever alcoholic drink she is enjoying at that time. Needless to say, I love her and her snaps.) But I digress... Lindsey and Dave tied the knot on what appeared to be a cold, windy, overcast day in our beautiful capital city Indianapolis. On the fifth floor of the Region’s Tower they exchanged vows, shed tears, danced, laughed, and had the best of times celebrating their nuptials. By the end of their ceremony we thought we weren’t going to have much more than some orangey clouds in the distance for a sunset. But low and behold the clouds cleared and not only did we have an exquisite sunset but a rainbow! A flippin’ rainbow y’all. It was great. Aside from all of the amazing things any photographer would dream of having on a wedding day, I was absolutely honored to be there and witness and document their memories. I feel lucky to have met and been chosen by them and working with them has truly reminded me of why I love what I do.
Lindsey and Dave had a very fun, simple yet elegant wedding day. Down to even their littlest of details. I’m a sucker for a groom in a grey or blue suit and Dave looked like one dapper gent in his blue suit with brown shoes. Plus, how awesome are these cufflinks?! What are those coordinates you ask? Oh they’re only the longitude and latitude coordinates for the Region’s Tower where they got married. Yeah... cue the “awww’s.”
This ring. Simple solitaire stone that seriously is to die for. Plus I love a bride in pearls.
If I had to pick a favorite line of bridal shoes it would definitely be the Betsey Johnson “Besty Blue” line. They all have a “Tiffany’s Blue” sole on the bottom and most of them come in this vibrant blue color as well. Such a fun way to incorporate your “Something Blue” into your wedding attire! Plus, they always look KILLER!
Lindsey and Dave had a huge wedding party. As in 14 people including the bride and groom. It was so much fun hanging out with them and they were all such troopers that day! My favorite though was hanging with all of the ladies in the bridal suite as they helped Lindsey put on her dress and do her finishing touches before she saw her man for their first look!
Loved Lindsey’s florals by Lily Lane Flowers. I had worked with Lily Lane before so I knew that everything would be stellar but I was definitely impressed by the colors and vibrancy of the bridesmaid bouquets, boutonnières, and table décor. Lindsey went with a beautiful white bouquet, and well I just can’t complain. It’s darn beautiful!
This is what a happy couple during a first look looks like. Love it!
Lindsey had tons of places she wanted to hit up for photos! We budgeted in TONS of time which resulted in more bride and groom photos than I think I’ve ever had... ever! We started at Holcomb Gardens on the Butler Campus where Dave and a lot of his groomsmen graduated college from. Not to mention... it’s just damn beautiful!
The gang’s all together!
After Holcomb Gardens we hopped in the party bus and went to White River State Park to get some photos with the Indianapolis skyline! It was windy as all get out but the wedding party rocked it out and so did Lindsey + Dave! Everyone was hungry and getting a little tired (probably due to a lot of booze and a little to eat) so afterwards everyone hopped back in the party bus to get some pizza at Region’s Tower!
While everyone else went upstairs to get pizza Lindsey + Dave agreed to let me take them over to The Tap at Pulliam Square for some wicked photos against this wall of greenery. Seriously, I WANT one of these walls on my house. Not like I’d water it or anything... but I want one.
After photos, pizza, more photos, and a big deep breath the bride and groom walked down the aisle to exchange rings and vows. It was a sweet ceremony with a full house.
Remember when we thought we wouldn’t get a sunset? Yeah, this was the time we went out for what we thought was the best sunset we were gonna get that day. Despite that we were gonna get so much more these photos warm my heart and make me so happy!
So I’ve never attended a wedding that did food quite like Lindsey + Dave did but man it was so cool! Instead of having a seating chart and a plated meal they opted for a buffet style little plates or appetizer selection of food. First there were passed hors d’oeuvres just like any other wedding. And then, they had a second course of heavier options like these twice baked potatoes that I would seriously consider giving my right arm for a lifetime supply of. I mean I think I had 5 of them. (They were small!) And then even later there were breadsticks with cheese sauce! Everyone got to sit where they wanted, mingle with who they wanted, eat what they did or did not want, and not a single person was angry about it. Seriously, how could you be?! The food was insanely delicious!
Here it is y’all. The moment you’ve been waiting for. The sunset to end all sunsets. On the fifth floor of the Region’s Tower. Da de ne dahhhh!
After all the chaos of sunset, rainbows, and photos transpired everything settled down and the bride and groom finished out their reception with a super sweet first dance to “The One” by Kodaline, amazing toasts, and a full dance floor complete with bandanas and tunes by The Lloyd Dobler Effect. To say it was a wonderful evening is an understatement for sure!
Thank you so, SO much Lindsey + Dave for having myself and Stephanie on your extra special day! It’s definitely a wedding I will never forget! We had such a ball working with you and I look forward to having a wine lunch date in the future and our paths crossing again! I wish you both endless years of happiness with all of your puppy snuggles, sporting events, and all the wine you can drink! Thank you both again from the bottom of my heart.
